Creamy Turkish-Style Mahalabia Recipe


A delicious creamy Turkish-style Mahalabia recipe, easy to make with milk, flour, cornstarch, sugar, butter, vanilla, and whipped cream, topped with crushed pistachios for a delightful touch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of milk

  • ½ cup flour

  • 4 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 cup sugar (or as desired)

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 sachet whipped cream powder (Dream Whip)

  • Crushed pistachios or nuts for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a pot, add the milk, flour, cornstarch, and sugar. Stir well while cold until everything dissolves completely.

  2. Place the pot on medium heat and keep stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.

  3. Remove from heat and add the butter and vanilla, stirring until the butter melts.

  4. Add the whipped cream powder and beat with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes.

  5. Pour the mixture into serving cups or bowls. Let it cool slightly, then refrigerate.

  6. Before serving, garnish with crushed pistachios or your favorite nuts.
