Crispy Phyllo Layers with Brie Cheese


A beautifully plated dish of crispy phyllo layers filled with melted Brie cheese, cranberry sauce, and toasted nuts, drizzled with honey. Garnished with a fresh thyme sprig, served on a rustic wooden plate with a cozy kitchen background.

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 sheets of phyllo dough

  • 200g Brie cheese, thinly sliced

  • ½ cup cranberry sauce

  • ¼ cup toasted nuts (walnuts/pecans)

  • 2-3 tbsp melted butter

  • Honey for serving

  • Fresh thyme sprig (optional for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  • Lightly grease a baking tray with melted butter.

2. Prepare the Phyllo Dough:

  • Lay the first sheet of phyllo dough and brush it with melted butter.

  • Repeat the process for 4-5 layers.

3. Add the Filling:

  • Arrange the Brie slices evenly over the phyllo layers.

  • Spread a layer of cranberry sauce and sprinkle toasted nuts on top.

4. Complete the Layers:

  • Add additional phyllo layers on top, brushing each one with butter.

5. Cut and Bake:

  • Cut into squares or rectangles before baking.

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy.

6. Serve:

  • Drizzle with honey while still warm.

  • Garnish with extra nuts and fresh thyme if desired.
