fish and potato balls

Crispy fish and potato balls, served with sauces and fresh salad.

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams of fish fillet (any type you prefer, such as grouper or cod)

  • 2 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed

  • 1 egg

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs for coating

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish: Cut the fish into small pieces and place it in a food processor. Blend until finely minced.

  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the minced fish with the mashed potatoes. Add the egg, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, cumin, and paprika. Mix everything well until it’s thoroughly combined.

  3. Shape the Balls: Take a small portion of the mixture and form it into small balls with your hands.

  4. Coat with Breadcrumbs: Roll each fish and potato ball in breadcrumbs to coat it evenly, pressing gently to make sure the breadcrumbs stick.

  5. Fry: Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry the fish and potato balls until they’re golden brown on all sides, then place them on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

  6. Serve: Serve the fish and potato balls hot with tahini sauce, mayonnaise, or a fresh green salad.
