Minced Meat Puff Pastry Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of puff pastry (ready-made, cut into squares)

  • 500 g minced meat

  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)

  • 2 garlic cloves (mashed)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • ½ teaspoon meat spices

  • Mozzarella or cheddar cheese (shredded)

  • 1 beaten egg (for brushing)

  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish) Preparation

    Filling:

    1. Heat a pan over medium heat with a little oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft.

    2. Add the mashed garlic and stir for 1 minute.

    3. Add the minced meat and cook well until all the liquid evaporates.

    4. Season with salt, black pepper, and spices. Let it cook for another 2 minutes. Set aside to cool.

    Assembling:

    1. Roll out the puff pastry squares on a floured surface.

    2. Place a spoonful of the meat filling in the center of each square and top with shredded cheese.

    3. Roll the pastry into logs and repeat for all pieces.

    Baking:

    1. Place the rolls on a greased baking tray or one lined with parchment paper.

    2. Brush the rolls with beaten egg.

    3. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.

    Serving:

    • Sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.

    • Serve hot with ketchup or mayonnaise on the side
